Never in history has the
launch of a programming language caused a public stir like that of Sun Microsystem's
Java. The news of Java even found its way into Time and Newsweek. McDougall
was an integral part of the Sun marcom launch team, depning messages, polishing
presentations, creating media, orchestrating demos and all aspects of the
